Summary

On the burning stretch of Punk Hazard, Luffy and his companions reach a lake whose two halves are divided between fire and frost. Because Luffy and Robin cannot swim, they depend on Usopp, who sprouts a banana-shaped raft and grass that serves as oars from his new Pop Greens. As they paddle into a fierce headwind, Zoro remarks on the simmering water below them, and Robin watches the chaos with quiet amusement.

Inside the laboratory that once belonged to Dr. Vegapunk, Nami and Chopper steer the rescued children toward an exit. Chopper resolves to shield them just as Sanji asked, while Sanji and Franky stay behind to handle the masked guards. Sanji knocks the masks free, exposing the rams' horns beneath and preventing the poison from being released. Out near the docked Thousand Sunny, Brook trades blows with a swordfighting torso, then flees in terror, certain it must be a ghost.

At the building marked PH-006, rather than smashing the door, Smoker calmly presses the buzzer. His subordinates, fired up and eager to arrest whoever waits inside, fall completely silent the moment the door opens. Standing there is Trafalgar Law, who now holds the rank of Warlord and casually asks why the White Hunter has come calling on his holiday retreat.

Key Events

On the cover, Disco resurfaces for his earliest post-timeskip showing, still bitter toward the rookies who dismantled his auction trade. Usopp debuts the Boaty Banana and Uchiwa Grass Pop Greens, while Franky, for his first time since the crew reunited, unleashes a strengthened Weapons Left. Spotting Zoro's swords, the centaurs' boss mistakes him for the samurai who has been cutting down his comrades. Brook is shown clashing with the samurai's torso, which fights using a two-sword style.

The island's layout is clarified, putting the Burning Lands to the southwest and the Ice Lands to the northeast. Most significantly, Trafalgar Law makes his post-timeskip return as one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, a position he secured by delivering one hundred pirate hearts to Marine Headquarters. His bounty before that appointment is revealed to have risen to 440,000,000 Berries, and he refers to PH-006 as his vacation house.

Notes

Every masked figure Sanji unmasks shares the same ram horns, an early clue about the experiments carried out on the island. Smoker correctly works out that the river route lay concealed behind the ice and that someone released gas on purpose to frighten outsiders away. The cover continues a recurring side feature and depicts Disco's downfall on the Sabaody Archipelago.
