Chapter 729

Just as Bellamy moves to strike Luffy, Dellinger steps in, announcing that the family now sees Bellamy as dead weight and that Doflamingo personally ordered him removed. On the iron bridge, the clash between Law and Doflamingo grinds on with the captain clearly winning, though Law has already left a fresh gash across his face, the first wound dealt to Doflamingo in the story. A call from Diamante about Violet's defection draws only a shrug; Doflamingo had guessed it the moment Black Leg surfaced.

Doflamingo dispatches Lao G and his men to bar the Straw Hats from reaching the factory, while keeping the colosseum crowd entertained himself. He sees through Law's stalling tactic but cannot grasp why his rival places such trust in Luffy, and Law answers that the Will of D. is destined to summon another storm. Meanwhile the Marines crack Zoro's disguise and conclude that the fighter called Lucy is Luffy, yet oddly they retain no memory of competitors transformed into toys, recognizing only Don Chinjao from their list.

Across a Den Den Mushi conference, the crew pools everything it has learned. Franky reveals the dwarf-led Riku rebellion intends to topple Doflamingo that very day, and despite the deviation from plan, he asks to fight alongside them. Sanji turns the Sunny back toward the island, and Luffy tells Franky to hold nothing back. As Fujitora lands on the shore amid explosions and sliced-apart buildings, Doflamingo stands over a bloodied Law outside the Corrida Colosseum, draws a pistol, and fires three shots into him.

This installment marks the first time Doflamingo bleeds in the series, struck by Law's Mes technique. It confirms the Marines know both Zoro and Luffy walk the island under the Lucy alias, and that Chinjao has not been turned into a toy since they still recall him. Law speaks of the Will of D. to his foe and, as the bullets land, thinks of Corazon for the first time while consciousness slips away.
