Chapter 814

Brook hums about visiting the cat ruler while remembering how, two days earlier, the master quietly ordered Wanda and Carrot to say nothing of the cook's exit. Luffy imagines Sanji returning with a bride who would join the crew, until Brook spells out that she is an Emperor's daughter, so the wedding would shackle them all to Big Mom, which is exactly why Sanji severed ties to protect them. Zoro shrugs the whole thing off, observing that Sanji never apologized, and warns that the crew has already enraged Kaidou while their absent cook is now entangled with a second Emperor. After clashing with Nami, Luffy settles on questioning Sanji in person.

At the Guardians' quarter the crew is welcomed warmly, with Roddy, Blackback, and Pedro offering apologies to Luffy. Indoors, the cat ruler ignores Chopper's instructions, soaking in a bath and devouring lasagna even as his injuries split open, then thanks Robin and Usopp for rescuing his people. Luffy turns to the awakened Pekoms, who explains that the cook's father teamed with Big Mom to orchestrate the wedding, calling that father a dreaded Underworld figure whose Vinsmoke kin form a household of killers.

Once the Emperor's crew abandoned Pekoms, Nekomamushi took him in. Luffy resolves to seek out Big Mom. The crew is introduced to the cat ruler, and Luffy questions Pekoms about the engagement. Pekoms discloses that Sanji's father joined Big Mom in arranging the union, that the man holds infamy across the Underworld, and that the clan of killers he heads is the Vinsmoke line.

The cover shows Sakura Kingdom hearing of the crew's triumph at Dressrosa. Zoro insists that charging into an Emperor's realm with no plan is folly, and Robin concurs that Big Mom dwarfs every foe they have faced. The cat ruler makes a troublesome patient, terrified of needles and refusing to rest while Chopper fights to keep him bandaged. Pedro, who leads the Guardians, pledges their assistance in tracking down the cook.
