Introducing Komurasaki the Oiran

One day past Dobon's defeat, the Udon inmates heap praise on Luffy and Kid. Luffy waves off Hyo's gratitude for the rescue and simply hands the elder some meal tickets. Raizo then arrives with news: he has traced the key to Luffy's Seastone cuffs, though it sits within a well-guarded Seastone box. Caribou pleads for tickets of his own, dangling his loyalty as payment, but Luffy turns him down and points him toward Kid. Reluctant because rumor says Kid lost an arm to one of Big Mom's crew, Caribou is corrected when Kid flings a pickaxe and clarifies that a Sweet Commander was the one he wounded in the clash with Big Mom's crew, the missing arm having been lost even earlier against the Red Hair Pirates. Each rookie then swears he alone will topple Kaidou.

Down in the capital, Sanji, Usopp, and Franky join the crowd watching Komurasaki's procession, when three ragged figures charge her with blades. A single stroke from her guard fells them all, and one attacker, Bingo, stares in anguish. His flashback reveals she vowed to belong to him forever if he purchased her freedom before Orochi could take her. Trusting her without reservation, he liquidated his home, his trade, and even his family, then delivered every coin. Her attendants only jeered, Komurasaki admitted she had spent the lot, and Kyoshiro branded him a stalker. Back in the present she scorns the swindled men as dogs whose sole worth is the money they surrender, and the penniless assailants are cast out of the capital as she arrives at Orochi's palace.

Raizo has slipped into Udon and located the cuff keys but holds off on freeing Luffy. Caribou explains that Seastone can be adjusted to sap a Devil Fruit user's strength by degrees. Kid recounts a raid on Big Mom's territory during which he wounded a Sweet Commander and made off with plunder, adding that toppling her was never his aim. Komurasaki's greed and cunning are fully laid bare. In Amigasa Village, Momonosuke tells Tama his sister Hiyori would now be twenty-six and that he believes she survives, yet reaching her would put her at risk until the war is won.
