Hyogoro presses him to repeat it against the oncoming Big Mom, insisting it already outstripped his own lessons, yet she crushes the attempt in an instant and smashes the pair into a wall. Dragging Hyogoro loose, Luffy is taught the principle he missed: pushing Haki inside an object to burst it apart, which is precisely what shattered the collars.

Chased into the neighboring iron factory, Luffy is pursued while Queen, refusing surrender, tells his crew a scheme that counts on Big Mom eventually circling back. She does, halting over a bait bowl of soup, and Queen crashes down onto her headfirst in his brachiosaurus form. She does not budge, but the impact knocks her memories loose; recognizing Queen with cold fury, she then abruptly drops asleep. Queen has her bound in Seastone and sails her to Onigashima, leaving Babanuki behind.

A flashback to Chapter 504 at last depicts Rayleigh removing Camie's slave collar through advanced Armament Haki, and the notion of striking a foe from the inside is expanded. Luffy pulls off the technique without truly commanding it. Queen's renewed attack restores Big Mom's memories before she nods off, after which he chains her in Seastone, injects heavy anesthetic, and departs for Onigashima with most of his men. Momonosuke and Tama slip into the Mines, and Luffy resolves to take Udon, telling Babanuki he had been free all along.

Hyogoro admits he braced himself with Haki during the wall collision as insurance, a small reminder that even while mentoring Luffy his own control far outpaces the student's.
