Chapter 139 (Online): Abyss

Saitama, Flashy Flash, and Manako stare down into the strange opening and make out nothing at all. Even Manako's bursts of lightning come up empty, since whatever dwells inside barely reacts to most electromagnetic waves. A voice, taken to be God, then speaks inside all three of their heads and offers to grant them power. Blast cuts in, stepping out of a wormhole, and explains that their physical touch on a cube is what let the entity reach them; he has been gathering the cubes as a pastime of his own.

The voice names Blast to the three, and Flashy Flash decides to put the supposed champion to the test, launching his Flashy Kicks. Blast slips the attack with ease, confirming his standing as the highest-ranked hero, then opens another wormhole to carry the group up to the surface.

Above ground, Child Emperor, Zombieman, and Sweet Mask hold the rear during the assault on Psykos and Orochi. Doubting his own command, Child Emperor tries to hand leadership to Zombieman, but Sweet Mask brands Zombieman a pseudo-monster and refuses to rely on him. As Zombieman reassures the boy of his worth, Homeless Emperor surges up from the earth and strikes the rearguard. Sweet Mask evades the energy orbs, but Zombieman is ripped apart shielding Child Emperor from the volley.

Overhead, Tatsumaki drives her energy spear through Orochi and tears the monster to shreds. The spear bores into the ground and comes to rest beside a mysterious altar.

The chapter corresponds to online release 139 and carries the title Abyss. Its cover features Saitama, and God appears here only as a voice, while Blast is shown as a debut within the arc's online numbering.
