Tesshō Genda

Genda voices Metal Knight, the secretive scientist hero also known as Dr. Bofoi, who commands an array of remote-piloted battle robots rather than fighting in person. The character later rebuilds the Hero Association's headquarters into a heavily armed fortress, and his backstory is tied to a mysterious cyborg attack that once destroyed the hometowns of Genos, Drive Knight, and their mentor Kuseno. Metal Knight's guarded, calculating demeanor gives Genda room to bring the same commanding authority he lends to figures like Optimus Prime and Batman.

Across more than five decades, Genda has built one of the largest resumes in Japanese voice acting, credited with well over two hundred roles by the mid-2000s alone. His signature parts include the Japanese-dub Optimus Prime in the Transformers franchise, Kurama from the Naruto series, and Kaido in One Piece, and he currently voices Tigger in the Japanese Winnie the Pooh media. He is especially recognized as the long-running Japanese voice of Batman across multiple animated series and films, and off the anime side he serves as the standard Japanese dub artist for stars including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Samuel L. Jackson, and Sylvester Stallone.
