Jupiter Star Power, Make Up

Sitting one step above her first command, this phrase introduces the Star Power Stick as the tool driving the change. It threads through the manga, the anime, the Crystal series, and a musical, marking a mid-stage in Makoto's growing set of transformations. From here she eventually moves on to still stronger calls.

The manga keeps the change brisk, with Jupiter lifting her pen and shifting form at once. The anime plays it fuller: green sparkles wrap her hand and tint her nails a yellow-green, then the Star Power Stick appears spinning, its inner Jupiter emblem turning as she grips it. She spins while electrical charges trace an atom-like path around her, and a flash of light finishes the uniform before her closing pose. Crystal reuses the framework of her first transformation, swapping in the Star Power Stick as the difference.

Makoto Kino, as Sailor Jupiter, is the sole user. The phrase surfaces in episode 65 of the anime, Act 16 of the manga, episode 15 of Crystal, and the Dark Kingdom Resurrection musical. It follows her first command and later yields to a stronger call, Jupiter Crystal Power, Make Up in the anime and Jupiter Planet Power, Make Up in the manga. The DiC dub of the R season notably patched this scene with recycled footage from Jupiter Power, Make Up.
