The Dark Gate is Completed? The Targeted Elementary School

Esmeraude sets her sights on the elementary school Chibiusa attends, charging it with a potent dark energy meant to finish the guardians in a single stroke. The corruption drives the children to violence and turns Chibiusa's beloved friend Momo cold and hostile, leaving the girl bewildered and hurt as the classroom she loved becomes a trap.

A dream recalls Chibiusa's first day at school, where a boy teases her until a kind girl, Momo, steps in on her behalf. Recovering from a fever under the care of Luna, Artemis, and the other guardians, Chibiusa looks forward to returning, while Ami alone frets over why the enemy keeps hunting the child. In Juban Park a white-haired figure feeds dark power into one of Esmeraude's henges, and she deploys the youma Chiral and Achiral, boasting that no more roundabout schemes are needed. The next morning Chibiusa finds her schoolmates brawling and Momo, eyes glowing pink, snarling that she cannot stand her before fleeing into the ruined building. Chibiusa gives chase through the wreckage and is set upon by Momo's group, only to discover that her teacher has been brainwashed too.

In the manga the Boule Brothers wield different powers, trapping the guardians in a false Crystal Palace and blocking Moon Princess Halation with a magnetic field before falling to Tuxedo La Smoking Bomber and Venus Love-Me Chain. The DiC dub renamed Chiral and Achiral as Doom and Gloom, and the Korean release skipped the episode over its depiction of violence among children. Momoko Momohara, Kyuusuke Sarashina, and the Boule Brothers all debut here. It aired in Japan on January 15, 1994.
