Act 20 Crystal Tokyo - King Endymion -

Sailor Moon and her companions meet King Endymion, who discloses that in the future Usagi and Mamoru become the rulers of Earth and that Chibiusa is their child. Naoko Takeuchi wrote and illustrated the chapter, part of the Black Moon arc.

A hologram of the future Tuxedo Mask, King Endymion, greets the guardians and confirms Chibiusa is the daughter of Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask, making Neo-Queen Serenity the thirtieth-century Sailor Moon. He recounts the assault on Crystal Tokyo that wounded Serenity and the others, sparing only Chibiusa and Diana, the future kitten born to Luna and Artemis.

Through the Silver Crystal's power, Endymion explains, Neo-Queen Serenity extended human lifespans and secured a lasting peace, yet dissenters rejected her reign, a black monument rose, and it began poisoning the planet and its people. He names the enemy's seat as Nemesis, a negatively charged tenth planet, and warns that the Black Moon now means to invade the past using the Dark Crystal. The captured guardians, he reasons, are surely held there.

Noticing Sailor Moon grow ill, Endymion sends the group back, since she and Serenity cannot occupy the same era. As Chibiusa returns home, Esmeraude tries to kill her, but Venus, Moon, and Tuxedo Mask arrive in time, and Tuxedo Mask slays Esmeraude. Because two Silver Crystals share one timeline, Sailor Moon cannot use hers in the thirtieth century. Her striking likeness to Neo-Queen Serenity then draws Prince Demande, who captures her.

Neo-Queen Serenity and Diana are listed among the chapter's first appearances. The installment establishes the family link between the present-day heroes and the future rulers of Crystal Tokyo, and it sets Sailor Moon's abduction in motion.
