Taeko Kawata

Taeko Kawata is a Japanese voice actress born in 1965 who has worked in the industry since 1986. She is internationally recognized for voicing Amy Rose in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, and she also contributed supporting roles to the Sailor Moon Crystal anime.

In the 2014 Sailor Moon Crystal series, Kawata voiced Momoko Momohara. She also portrayed Mie Sayama elsewhere in the Sailor Moon franchise, both supporting parts alongside her much larger body of work in other series.

Kawata is internationally recognized as the longtime Japanese voice of Amy Rose across the Sonic the Hedgehog games and animation. That role has become the centerpiece of a career built primarily around long-running franchises outside of Sailor Moon.

Kawata worked with the talent agency 81 Produce until 2010, after which she launched her own company, T-River LLC. In 2019 she opened a private school, building on training she originally received at Jissen Commercial High School.

Kawata has been active in the industry since 1986, a career now spanning nearly four decades. She was born in 1965 and trained at Jissen Commercial High School before beginning professionally.
