History
A decade earlier, Matsuri Washuu led a party of ghoul investigators in an assault on the Rosewald home. Their father remained behind to buy them time, and Nathanael escaped with his mother and siblings. When their mother was killed during the flight, the brothers gave up their own lives to protect Karren, leaving her as the family's sole survivor.
