Yasutomo Nakajima

Tall and appearing middle-aged, Nakajima keeps his black hair short and favors a formal suit worn with an open collar.

His manner is blunt, though a kindly nature sits underneath it, and he grieves hard for the fond times he shared with Kusaba once his partner is gone.

Paired with Ippei Kusaba, Nakajima takes part in the investigation of the suspect codenamed 723, an operation overseen by Kureo Mado and Koutarou Amon. He grows uneasy when Amon lectures the team on the morality an investigator should hold, and stays quiet as evidence ties the suspect to another marked ghoul. During the ambush of Ryouko Fueguchi and her daughter Hinami, the two are the first investigators the ghouls notice, and Nakajima is struck across the face before the girl slips away.

After the target is eliminated, he receives Mado's thanks yet stays grim even as news of a reward pleases Kusaba. The two share a meal with Amon, but moments after they leave the restaurant Kusaba is killed in front of him by the ghoul called Rabbit. Nearly slain in the same instant, Nakajima is saved by Amon. Following the funeral he invites Amon back to that same restaurant, where memories of treating Kusaba to meals overwhelm him, until Amon startles him into a smile by wolfing down far more than his late partner ever could.
