Yusa Arima

Yusa is a slender youth with short, wavy black hair and dark eyes, usually seen in the white trench coat that marks his squad. Following the Dragon War his hair lengthens and pales to white, and he trades the coat for a black combat suit.

Soft-spoken and level-headed, he tends to be the calming voice among his companions. He drifts easily into daydreams and quietly longs to learn about the wider world, curious about matters that have nothing to do with battle.

Like the other half-humans engineered by V, Yusa was raised and drilled in the Sunlit Garden to become a capable ghoul investigator, and he joined the elite squad answering directly to Kishou Arima. When the group found Kaneki standing over Arima's body during the Cochlea raid, they were allowed to grieve their fallen leader before following Kaneki deeper into the prison.

Determined to honor Arima's final wish, Yusa and his squadmates threw in with Kaneki as he built Goat, standing with him even when others resented their presence. He fought the Clowns during their siege of the 22nd ward and helped subdue Hajime Hazuki after the boy's true nature surfaced, and he attended the wedding of Kaneki and Touka. When the 24th ward came under raid, he battled Koori Ui alongside Take Hirako and lost his comrades Shio Ihei and Rikai Souzu in the chaos.

Through the Dragon crisis he kept fighting beside Hirako and Ui, the three eventually joining forces to strike down a piece of Kaneki's runaway kagune. During V's surprise assault he held the line against Kaiko, blocking a killing blow meant for Hirako before opening a gash across the enemy's face. In the aftermath he serves as a peacekeeper for the TSC, fighting in a manner that recalls Arima himself. Offered the chance to take up the Kishou name, he turns it down.
