Ivalera

Two sets of wings carry Ivalera's tiny frame, which measures close to that of the pisky Puck. What sets the pair apart at a glance is color: a pink glow surrounds her rather than his greenish tint. She also forgoes his bare look, dressing in a halter and skirt.

An empath by nature, Ivalera reads the emotions of those nearby. Over the years she tuned this sense to Schierke in particular, hovering over her friend with almost maternal care and warning the group whenever the young witch pushes her powers too far and sinks into a trance no one can rouse her from. Beside the giddy Puck she comes across as the steadier, more dependable of the two, though the pair still trade jabs constantly.

She functions as Schierke's closest friend and the outspoken echo of the witch's hidden feelings. Her early wariness toward Guts was simply a shield for her companion. With Farnese she strikes a teasing note once the noblewoman takes up magic study, needling her with labels like apprentice and serving maid over her duties to Casca, yet never crossing into genuine cruelty. Isidro grates on her badly; she and Schierke privately dismiss the boy as a hopeless nuisance. Determined to rise above the carefree reputation of her race, she often squabbles with Puck, at times collapsing into the same absurd super-deformed cartoon self he takes on during silly moments.

Her gifts mirror Puck's. She can fly, though living in the Mansion of the Spirit Tree with Schierke meant only short hops were ever needed, and once they set out she mostly perches on the witch instead. Her empathic sense keeps her attuned to Schierke's moods, including the girl's crush on Guts, which she cheerfully tries to nudge along. Like Puck, she can scatter a healing dust, and the two bickering piskies frequently pool that power to mend the wounded.
