Chizuru Honshō

Chizuru is a slender teenager who frames her face with side-parted bangs and a pair of red-rimmed glasses. Her hair is cropped and red, her eyes a shade of purple, and outside of special occasions she is nearly always seen in the Karakura High uniform.

Cheerful during almost every waking moment, Chizuru is loud and unashamed about being a lesbian. Her affections fixate on Orihime Inoue, whom she dotes on with the nickname "Hime," seizing any opening to embrace her, shower her with compliments, and grope her chest. She also throws the occasional pass at Michiru Ogawa. Tatsuki Arisawa routinely intercepts these advances with a punch, though Chizuru's temper flares into genuine fury whenever someone else disrupts her or speaks ill of Orihime.

Chizuru first brushes against the supernatural during the events surrounding Ichigo's early days as a Soul Reaper. Loitering after class with Orihime and Tatsuki, she floats one of her crude theories and is rewarded with a fist to the gut. The mood turns when Orihime senses the Hollow Numb Chandelier and urges her to flee; a seed fired by the creature strikes Chizuru's shoulder and bends her to its will, driving her to throttle and strike Orihime alongside a mob of similarly infected classmates. She is freed once Orihime's newly awakened powers deal with the threat, and days later she is back to normal, sharing lunch and pressing Rukia Kuchiki about whether she and Ichigo are an item.

Her later appearances keep her at the fringes of the wider war. A new term opens with the usual back-hug and Tatsuki's usual rescue, and she bristles when Shinji Hirako dares to embrace Orihime before Ichigo hauls him away. During the assault on the fake Karakura Town, an unconscious Chizuru is carried to safety by Keigo Asano and handed off to Mizuiro Kojima. Waking disoriented, she presses the others about why nobody seems alarmed, only for Aizen's crushing presence to answer for her; Mizuiro buys the group time with an improvised firebomb, and they scatter until Ichigo appears and orders them to hold their ground.
