Rematch?! Ishida vs. Nemu

Near a forest waterfall outside Karakura Town, Uryū is ambushed by Nemu, who tests his depleted powers with a flurry of strikes and kidō. Below ground, Ichigo, Rukia, Orihime, Sado, Renji and the Mod-Souls press into the Bount ruins, where Ugaki directs his doll Gesell through a deck of cards. Endless flying Wächter pour at the group, and Gesell strikes from shadows cast on stalagmites, hurling Rukia aside and dragging Ichigo and Orihime toward the darkness with rope-like limbs.

A battered Rangiku arrives and cuts them free, revealing that Gesell uses the Wächter's shadows as gateways into the world. Once the group shatters every pillar and stalagmite, Ichigo wipes out the remaining Wächter with a Getsuga Tenshō. Ugaki, undeterred, addresses them through the cave and argues the Bount deserve sympathy as a dwindling, persecuted people, but Renji, remembering the child left comatose by the Bitto, refuses to forgive them. Ichigo presses ahead with only Renji, leaving the wounded and the Mod-Souls behind under Kon's watch.

Deeper in, Gesell casts shadows off Ichigo and Renji themselves, but Hisagi and Izuru intervene, the latter using Wabisuke to double the weight of the doll's weapons until they collapse. Forced to withdraw Gesell, Ugaki triggers a cave-in that separates the pairs, and the lieutenants urge Ichigo and Renji onward. At the river, Nemu produces the Quincy Bangle, an old artifact that manipulates Reishi, and tells Uryū it will aid him if he is a true Quincy.

Nemu confronts Uryū and reveals the Quincy Bangle, offering to temporarily return his lost powers. Rangiku exposes the mechanic behind Gesell, that the doll enters the world through shadows produced by its Wächter, allowing the group to counter it. Izuru's Wabisuke neutralizes Gesell's weapons by repeatedly doubling their weight. Ugaki lays out the Bount's tragic circumstances, but Renji rejects any pardon for their killings. Ichigo and Renji push forward alone toward the deeper caverns after Hisagi and Izuru are cut off by falling rock.

An anime-only episode from the Bount storyline with no source chapters. A closing comedic segment features the Shinigami Women's Association meeting, where Nanao intimidates Mayuri, sitting in for Nemu, by removing her glasses. The episode sets up Uryū's path back to combat readiness through the Quincy Bangle.
