The Spear Hybrid twists this into more justification for the slaughter and tells the others to finish smoking, though he alone holds a cigarette, before the killing begins.

As Miri psyches himself up by repeating the Whip Hybrid's words, Quanxi cuts all three down. The Whip and Spear Hybrids lose their heads before fully transforming, while Miri manages to shift into his Longsword Hybrid form only to be decapitated moments later mid-shout. Quanxi reports the success to her superiors and instructs that Special Division 7 enter the Chainsaw Man Church twenty minutes after the first media coverage breaks. A news broadcast then falsely blames gunmen for the food court attack and announces a joint police and Public Safety raid on the Church. Inside, a senior member warns that discovery of the weapons cached in the basement will brand the organization with treason. As Nobana and Haruka look on confused, the elder orders Haruka to gather every combat-trained follower outside the prayer room, then claims he knows nothing about what is unfolding, and neither does Haruka.

This Chainsaw Man Church arc chapter appeared September 20, 2023 in Volume 16 under the title Gaō, an onomatopoeia for a roar. A supplementary note confirms that this chapter and the one before it unfold in East Ogikubo, Tokyo. Quanxi's sudden intervention flips the planned massacre into the trigger for the Church's downfall.
