Summary

The chapter opens on Power's memories of an easy life shared with Meowy, hunting animals and reveling in fresh blood, until the Bat Devil seized the cat and demanded a human in exchange. Power had set off toward the city on that errand, questioning why she would bother for so flimsy a reason, then admitting to herself that she simply adores the warmth of blood.

She wakes beside Meowy, both of them cut free from the Bat Devil's guts by Denji. Puzzled, Power asks why he would save her after she had tried to end him. His only reply is a point at her chest and a squeezing motion. Calling the motive ridiculous, she nonetheless agrees to let him grope her since Meowy made it out alive.

Denji's celebration is cut short when a Leech Devil lops off his arm. He asks whether Power can still move; she cannot, so he resolves to take the new Devil on himself, though his transformation stalls for want of blood. The Leech Devil rages over the death of her boyfriend, the Bat Devil, until a closer look convinces her that Denji is adorable. She decides to spare him while promising to slaughter Power and Meowy, and Denji braces for the fight.
