Summary

As the ritual starts to wound the Evil Eye, Jiji shouts for it to stop. Seiko orders Momo to pin Jiji using her psychic powers, and the contact unexpectedly flashes a fragment of the Evil Eye's memories into Momo's mind. Jiji tearfully explains he promised to play with the spirit and vows to be more careful near cold water. Persuaded by his sincerity, Seiko douses the ritual fire with an extinguisher and announces she is calling the exorcism off, welcoming the Evil Eye into the household.

With the exorcism scrapped, the Hayashi take their leave, inviting Seiko and Momo to call again, while Momo, dismayed at the wreckage, suspects that may be sooner than expected. The next day Seiko starts training Jiji to govern his ki through seiza meditation, teaching that unlocking his spiritual power is the key to restraining the Evil Eye.
