Eiko Yamada

Eiko Yamada lent her voice to Mai, the cunning Desert Bandit Gang member, throughout the original Dragon Ball series and its sequels. Her portrayal of Mai spanned Dragon Ball GT and appeared again in the feature film Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, establishing her as a defining voice for the character across multiple eras of the franchise.

Beyond Dragon Ball, Yamada has built a prolific voice acting career in Japanese anime, contributing to World Masterpiece Theater productions and other animation projects. She worked professionally under her maiden name for much of her career, continuing the practice even after her marriage to Hisamura.

Yamada was formerly affiliated with Aoni Production before becoming a free agent. Her work spans decades, making her one of Dragon Ball's long-serving cast members and a respected fixture in Japanese voice acting for both anime and video games.
