Bariete

Bariete takes the form of a small, humanlike monkey mink. His outfit is a tidy one, pairing a striped top hat with a proper suit.

He guards the Mokomo Dukedom's gates with great seriousness, turning angry and hurling insults at the Straw Hats when they tried to slip into Zou uninvited. He is equally committed to sounding the country's bells, whether welcoming visitors or warning of an invasion. True to monkey stereotype, his love of bananas runs so deep that he will take them as a bribe. His speech is marked by the verbal tic "ete" and a habit of ending sentences with "degosaru."

As a mink, Bariete is a born fighter able to wield Electro. During the Beasts Pirates' invasion of Zou, despite his injuries he warned the population by ringing the raid bell. In the Zou Arc he spotted the Straw Hats and their allies climbing Zunesha's leg and leapt down to stop them, instead colliding with Kin'emon and Kanjuro and tumbling to the Thousand Sunny. A later attempt to reach Zou on a cat drawn by Kanjuro failed when Zunesha's self-washing dissolved the drawing. Once atop Zou, he fled from the samurai asking after Raizo and rang the Bell of Welcoming. After Zunesha sank Jack's fleet on Momonosuke's command, Bariete reported the defeat to the minks. He later told Wanda that Carrot had left with the Sanji retrieval team, apologized, and was forgiven, then happily ate one of the bananas Carrot had bribed him with. He afterward traveled to Wano with the Inuarashi Musketeer Squad, joined the Raid on Onigashima, accompanied Shishilian, and informed Nekomamushi that Pedro's killer Charlotte Perospero was on the island. He celebrated with the other minks at the victory banquet that followed.
