Role in the Story

Man-Wolf is an unusual creature whose condition works in reverse compared to a standard werewolf. While a werewolf turns from human into a wolf under the full moon, Man-Wolf is a wolf who becomes human when the moon is visible. After Master Roshi, competing as Jackie Chun, destroyed the moon during the 21st World Martial Arts Tournament, Man-Wolf was permanently stuck in his wolf form and unable to return to his preferred human appearance.

Furious over this predicament, Man-Wolf enters the 22nd Tournament specifically to fight Jackie Chun. During their match, he charges at Chun with wild aggression but is completely outclassed. Chun ends the fight quickly, then uses Krillin's bald head as a substitute moon, hypnotizing Man-Wolf into believing the full moon has returned. The technique works, and Man-Wolf permanently reverts to his human form. Overjoyed, he abandons his grudge entirely and runs off to pursue a date he had been planning before losing his human body.
