Properties and Merging

The Dark Dragon Balls are a set of seven corrupted wish orbs created by Xeno Dende under orders from Mechikabura and Towa for the Dark Empire. They are visually distinct from standard Dragon Balls, appearing as dark red spheres with black-colored stars. Upon creation, they immediately scatter through time and space, each ball seeking out and merging with a powerful evil entity to amplify that host's strength.

The dark energy within these Dragon Balls can trigger transformations in their hosts. Xeno Janemba gained access to his Evil Demon form through the negative energy, while Xeno Turles achieved his Rampaging state when the dark power interacted with the Fruit of the Tree of Might. The seven original hosts, collectively known as the Dark Dragon Ball Fighters, were Xeno Frieza, Xeno Cell, Xeno Majin Buu, Xeno Turles, Xeno Janemba, Xeno Lord Slug, and Broly.

Wish-Granting and Shadow Dragons

When all seven Dark Dragon Balls are gathered, they function similarly to the Earth Dragon Balls and can summon Dark Shenron to grant wishes. However, a single wish produces enough negative energy to generate an entire set of Shadow Dragons, each tainted with demonic energy far beyond the corruption seen in the standard Shadow Dragons from Dragon Ball GT.

Mechikabura used the gathered Dark Dragon Balls to summon Dark Shenron at the summit of his tower, wishing to be restored to his prime. The balls later fell into the hands of Demigra, who used them to create the seven Xeno Shadow Dragons. They have been gathered and used multiple times throughout the Dragon Ball Heroes storyline, serving as a recurring catalyst for escalating conflicts across time and space.
