Two Versions of the Sacred Water

The name "Sacred Water" refers to two distinct substances in the Dragon Ball universe. The first is the water kept by Korin at the top of Korin Tower, which legend claimed would grant incredible strength to anyone who drank it. In truth, the water was nothing special at all; it was simply ordinary water. The real source of power came from the grueling physical challenge of climbing the tower and the training required to take the bottle from Korin. Only a handful of warriors ever accomplished this feat.

The second Sacred Water is an entirely different substance stored at the Lookout. This version possesses genuine mystical properties, specifically the ability to dispel brainwashing and mind control. Kami can distribute it across the entire Earth by pouring it through an opening at the base of the Lookout, where air currents carry the water's purifying mist throughout the atmosphere.

This power proved critical in the anime-exclusive Garlic Jr. Saga, when the Sacred Water was used to cure the entire population of Earth from the effects of the Black Water Mist. It was used again in Dragon Ball GT when Kibito Kai employed it to free Earth's people from Baby's parasitic control. In the Japanese version of these events, the ability to cure mind control is attributed to the Ultra Divine Water rather than the Sacred Water.
