Dodoria closes in on the fleeing trio, and Krillin deploys the Solar Flare to blind him. They hide at the base of a mountain, but Dodoria retaliates by obliterating the surrounding islands with a massive energy blast. Krillin, Gohan, and Dende survive by hovering behind Dodoria in midair. Once Dodoria leaves, the group heads back toward Bulma, only for Vegeta to ambush Dodoria from below.
Dodoria gains on the trio rapidly, and Gohan suggests they land and fight. Krillin shoots down the idea, knowing they are completely outmatched. Instead, he hatches a plan on the fly. He tosses Dende over to Gohan and tells him to close his eyes and not look back. Turning to face the pursuing Dodoria, Krillin unleashes the Solar Flare. The blinding flash of light completely robs Dodoria of his vision, and Krillin seizes the moment to catch up with Gohan. He urges them to find cover while Dodoria is still disoriented.
The three of them dive down and take shelter at the foot of a nearby mountain. Dodoria's sight gradually returns, but he cannot detect them anywhere. Without a scouter, locating such small targets across the vast Namekian landscape proves impossible. He circles the area repeatedly, screaming for them to reveal themselves. Gohan reassures Dende that Dodoria cannot track them since Moori destroyed all the scouters. Frustrated beyond his limit, Dodoria decides to simply destroy everything. He shoots high into the sky, takes aim, and launches a colossal energy blast straight down. The explosion wipes out the surrounding cluster of islands, leaving nothing but open ocean.
Dodoria assumes he has either killed or chased off the fugitives and decides not to press the matter further, noting they were not ordinary beings. In reality, Krillin, Gohan, and Dende escaped the blast by flying up behind Dodoria at the last second. Once Dodoria departs, they exhale with relief. Krillin proposes heading back to Bulma's hiding spot and asks Dende if he can fly. Dende confirms he can and thanks Krillin for saving his life. Krillin deflects the credit to Gohan, whose reckless bravery started the rescue. Meanwhile, Dodoria flies alone over the Namekian ocean, pondering how to find Dragon Balls without a scouter, when a sudden blow from below sends him crashing into the water. He drags himself ashore to find Vegeta standing over him.
