Vegeta confronts Zarbon in midair and reveals that he killed Dodoria. The two warriors clash above the Namekian landscape, with Vegeta's dramatically increased power allowing him to dominate the exchange. However, Zarbon warns that he has been holding back a terrible secret: a monstrous transformation that amplifies his strength far beyond his elegant exterior.
Zarbon struggles to believe Vegeta truly killed Dodoria, but the Saiyan prince is eager to prove himself. When Zarbon asks why Vegeta would defy Frieza, Vegeta lays out his plan: he wants the Dragon Balls for eternal life, which would improve his odds against the tyrant. Zarbon scoffs, insisting that even immortality would not close the gap. Vegeta brushes this aside, pointing out that Zarbon no longer has a scouter to measure how much his battle power has grown. Zarbon acknowledges he cannot gauge Vegeta's level but remains confident that Frieza exists on an entirely different plane of strength.
Tired of talk, Vegeta demands they settle this with fists. He reminds Zarbon that Dodoria admitted Frieza once feared the Saiyans, and Vegeta intends to justify that fear. Zarbon counters that Frieza feared the Saiyans acting together, not any single warrior. Vegeta smirks, vanishes, and reappears at Zarbon's side. Zarbon throws a punch, but Vegeta catches his fist and hurls him higher into the sky. Zarbon steadies himself and fires a massive energy blast downward. Vegeta holds his ground and swats the attack aside with one arm, detonating it harmlessly in the distance.
The distant explosion reaches Krillin and Dende. Krillin recognizes two enormous powers locked in combat and is frustrated by the gulf between himself and these fighters. He sees an opportunity: while Vegeta is occupied, they can reach the Grand Elder undetected. He grabs Dende and accelerates their flight.
Vegeta drives an elbow into Zarbon's face. Zarbon retaliates with a kick, but Vegeta dodges, executes a midair backflip, and sends Zarbon crashing across the ground. Rising battered and humbled, Zarbon concedes that Vegeta has improved substantially. Then his expression shifts. He warns Vegeta that this beating has forced him to reveal a power kept dormant for a long time, something ugly and overwhelming that he normally refuses to unleash.
