Reeling from Gohan's uppercut, Cell privately acknowledges the boy's power surpasses his own. In desperation, he ascends and channels a full-power Kamehameha capable of destroying the Earth. Gohan answers with his own blast, and when the dust settles, Cell is missing multiple limbs while the planet remains untouched. The Super Saiyan 2 surveys the carnage with a cold smile.
Following the devastating uppercut, Gohan strides confidently toward Cell, who is now caught between rage and fear. Cell throws a powerful kick, but Gohan blocks it with nothing more than his left forearm. The impact does not move him at all. After a brief, tense pause, Gohan retaliates with a kick to Cell's face that sends the bio-android skidding across the ground. Cell looks up and sees Gohan walking toward him once again, unhurried and composed.
As Cell rises to his feet and stands face to face with Gohan, a grim realization settles over him. He had always believed no being in the universe could surpass his power. Now he is forced to admit, at least internally, that Gohan is the stronger fighter.
Despite acknowledging the gap in their strength, Cell grins and declares that superior power does not guarantee victory. He rockets into the sky and begins gathering energy for a Kamehameha at maximum output, one he claims will obliterate the entire Earth. The Z Fighters watch in horror, understanding that Cell intends to force Gohan into absorbing the full brunt of the blast or losing the planet. Cell screams that this is the end and unleashes the massive beam toward the ground. Vegeta mutters that everything is finished.
At the last possible moment, Gohan fires his own Kamehameha directly into the incoming blast. The two beams collide with extraordinary force, shaking the sky and blinding everyone nearby. When the light fades and the dust clears, Gohan's blast has carved a path straight through Cell's attack and continued into space, leaving the Earth completely unharmed. Cell floats in the air, catastrophically wounded. His left arm, left leg, and lower right leg have been blown away, and the crown-like protrusions on his head are sheared off. Gohan looks up at the mangled android and lets out a quiet, satisfied chuckle at the devastation he has caused.
