Mode Change

Other

Mode Change is a transformation system used by Catopesra of Universe 3 during the Tournament of Power. By cycling through different configurations on his battle suit, Catopesra can shift between combat specializations that emphasize speed, power, or other attributes. The system allows rapid tactical adaptation, though each mode comes with its own limitations.

Catopesra's Battle Suit

Catopesra's battle suit is a technological device that channels his energy into different combat configurations. By switching modes, he can redistribute his power to emphasize different attributes. Speed Mode enhances his movement and reaction time at the expense of raw striking power. Power Mode maximizes his physical damage output but reduces his agility. Ultimate Mode attempts to balance all attributes at their highest possible levels. Each transition is accompanied by a color change in the suit, making it visually clear which mode is currently active.

Tournament of Power Performance

Despite the versatility of his Mode Change system, Catopesra was not among the top-tier competitors in the Tournament of Power. His various modes allowed him to adapt to different opponents, but the raw power gap between himself and fighters like the Saiyans, Jiren, or Hit was too large for tactical flexibility alone to bridge. The Mode Change system is conceptually similar to the Formation transformations used by Universe 2: it represents an alternative approach to power within the Dragon Ball multiverse, one based on technology and tactical adaptation rather than raw ki output. Catopesra's suit-based system highlights how different civilizations across the twelve universes have developed their own solutions to the universal challenge of becoming stronger.
