Connie

Large rectangular glasses with black frames and reflective lenses hide Connie's eyes completely. Her hair is long and straight, parted at the center and reaching past her shoulders; the colored manga gives it a light brown shade, while the anime settled on light blonde from Season 3 onward after using brown in the first two seasons. She has fair skin and, like the rest of Eden Academy's girls, usually appears in the school uniform.

A small presence and mild manner make Connie easy to overlook, so much so that Anya comically blanks on her name at every meeting. Rather than speak up, she bottles her frustrations, silently cursing a boy in her head after he shoved her. The paranormal fascinates her, and she collects ghost stories and occult objects, yet genuine scares undo her in an instant. When frightened she reacts theatrically, arming herself with protective charms and loudly vowing to curse to death anything that dares harm her.

Connie attends Eden Academy as a first-year in Cecile Hall's Class 3 under homeroom teacher Henry Henderson, though she and Anya only begin interacting during the second term. She politely reintroduces herself each time Anya forgets who she is, and after seeing Anya's courage up close during the bus hijacking staged by the Red Circus, she comes to admire a strength she wishes she had herself. Science is her weak subject, but she shines in classical language, placing into Class A, the top-ranked group for that discipline, after the term finals.

When false bribery accusations threaten Henderson's name, Connie helps defend him and expose Murdoch Swan's illegal admissions dealings, receiving her first Stella Star together with seven classmates: Anya, Damian Desmond, Becky Blackbell, Emile Elman, Ewen Egeburg, George Glooman, and Bill Watkins. Early design notes by Tatsuya Endo cast her as dreamy and airheaded with a comic double act opposite Anya, and the manga withholds her name until Chapter 112.
