Appearance

In his cursed-womb phase Dagon resembled an octopus or similar sea creature, a bright red body crowned by a round head with large round eyes and striped tentacles fringing a mouth opening. His two muscular arms ended in four fingers apiece, his trunk tapered off like a caterpillar, and he habitually draped a white cloth across his head and back.

Evolution remade him into a taller, far more humanoid figure on the order of Hanami. The reshaped head suggested an octopus dotted with black on top and fitted with blank white eyes, colored green in the anime. Red coated the outer faces of his chest, hips, thighs, and arms while the inner stretches went tan, his midsection blackened, and wings sprouting from his lower back gave him the means to hover.

Personality

As an infant-like cursed womb, Dagon was gentle in the extreme beside Jogo and Hanami. He hung back through most operations, doing little beyond keeping the domain running at the group's hideout and devouring people only on request, never matching his comrades' drive. He felt safest among them and turned shy and jittery alone, following his friends in silence. Speech was within his reach, yet he stuck to noises and joined no talk, though he cried out for help by name when cornered, and the discovery that Hanami was already dead enraged him so fiercely that the fury alone forced his evolution into a full cursed spirit.

The change gave him a far harsher temperament and pride in his power, much like Jogo, Hanami, and Mahito. His intelligence climbed sharply, so he spoke freely and fought by strategy. Bitter toward his foes over Hanami's death, he bristled at being labeled a mere cursed spirit and stressed that he and his allies had each chosen to bear names. He granted that Naobito Zenin was strong, yet mocked Maki as weak and seethed when she taunted him after surviving an attack. In the end he misjudged his human enemies, fought to keep his pride whole once Toji Fushiguro overcame him, admitted he could not win unless his domain's certain strike landed, and still insisted the battle was not finished as he was exorcised.

Abilities

As a special grade curse, Dagon wielded command over water that made him a grave danger near his allies' tier even at his most passive. Already as a cursed womb he could drown and devour dozens of weak non-sorcerers in a single sweep, turning their flesh into cursed energy, though on his own he could not stand against strong sorcerers like Naobito. Evolution amplified all of it: Maki rated his water output well past Max Elephant, Naobito and Nanami together failed to exorcise him at the speed two grade 1 sorcerers should manage, and Naobito sensed his cursed energy had ballooned to immense levels backed by a wide technique arsenal. His fully realized body proved astonishingly tough, brushing off Nanami's critical-hit Ratio Technique until Nanami doubted he had landed any damage at all.

His mind sharpened in step with his strength. A feint hand sign distracted Naobito long enough for him to cast his domain, he doled out exact percentages of his domain's effect across his targets, and the endless shikigami of Death Swarm let him blind Naobito's Falling Blossom Emotion. His innate technique, Disaster Tides, raises huge waves from cursed energy alone and draws the water back to swallow swimmers, and in his evolved form he loosed enormous tides from a fingertip. From his body he conjures a broad range of man-eating shikigami, eel-like sea serpents, piranha swarms, small sharks, and tough crustaceans, even with the can't-miss function unavailable. His Domain Expansion, Horizon of the Captivating Skandha, is a sunny tropical island on which his summoned creatures land their blows without fail, complete with the umbrella and lounge chairs Mahito and Kenjaku enjoyed. After Megumi nullified the unerring attack and opened a competing domain, Dagon realized that allowing them to flee would bar him from recasting the domain, and Toji Fushiguro, who carried no cursed energy, ultimately bested him.
