Chapter 102 (Vigilantes)

The entrance comes apart under Number 6 and the Anonymous, and word of the breach reaches Midnight and the doctors watching over Kazuho. Number 6 goes in by himself and lets the villains mill around outside. Watching from a distance, Moyuru reasons the decision keeps a pile of Bomber Villains from being packed into one building, and observes how much they resemble zombies at this point.

The O'Clock illusion compliments the thinking, noting Number 6 has been steering the hive mind with Overclock and needs it unburdened for finer control. He inflates an arm, blows another hole, and emerges in a corridor where Naomasa Tsukauchi and a line of officers move to arrest him. Number 6 remembers the detective from the Osaka incident and catches the use of the name Overclock, which tells him Eizo Tanuma talked about his Quirk and should have been silenced sooner. The officers are visibly rattled by his burned face. He informs them that Kazuho is his only errand, but anyone in the way joins the list, and then shots come through the window from outside.

Thirty minutes or so before all this, Naomasa and his officers had joined Midnight and the doctors while power was being restored and priorities set. Rapt brought word that Soga wanted a private conversation. In the parking garage, Soga argued that with the heroes unreachable, they work with whoever remains. They pooled what they knew: Koichi's warning that Number 6 intends to murder Kazuho, and the man's speed, stealth, and fondness for disguises. Naomasa recalled his own earlier encounter, the long search since, and their suspicion that Number 6 was behind the attack on Eizo. Soga proposed sniping from the corridor to occupy that speed. Naomasa agreed but forbade any hit, refusing to let a civilian's hands get dirty and reserving the finish for his officers. Soga accepted, doubting he could land a shot at that range anyway.

Back in the present, Soga flips to automatic and sprays the hallway, which strikes Naomasa as excessive. Number 6 slips the rounds with Overclock, and the O'Clock illusion notes the scattered pattern betrays a shooter with no intention of hitting anything, the point being to force the Quirk and burn through his oxygen. Number 6 elects to wait out the magazine and catch his breath, only for Koichi to turn up and add his Shooty-Go-Blam-Blam-Blam-Blam-Blam to the barrage. Batting away the feeble attacks costs him his footing, the officers put rounds through his legs, and he drops to his knees as Naomasa calls for him to be secured.

Number 6 begins Phase 5, leaving the Anonymous outside so his mind stays free, and enters the hospital to kill Kazuho.

He deduces Eizo Tanuma revealed his Overclock Quirk to Naomasa, and regrets not silencing him.

A flashback to the parking garage shows the detective and the thug shelving their differences to plan a counterattack, on the condition that Soga lands no hits himself.

Soga sprays the corridor to force Number 6 into overusing Overclock and depleting his oxygen.

Koichi arrives and adds his own suppressing fire, letting the police force shoot Number 6's legs and move to secure him.

The hundred and second chapter of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes by Hideyuki Furuhashi and Betten Court runs 19 pages, released May 22, 2021, and belongs to volume 13 within the Naruhata Lockdown arc. Number 6 and the Anonymous appear on the cover.

The O'Clock advising Number 6 throughout is an illusion, a disguise worn by All For One.

The chapter draws on Number 6's earlier clash with Taishiro Toyomitsu and the police force, and on the Osaka incident. Eizo Tanuma is mentioned, and Sansa Tamakawa appears in flashback.
