Chapter 112 (Vigilantes)

Knuckleduster reviews his last meeting with Number 6 and pins the failure on underestimating the boy's speed and physical upgrades, which let him walk out of a collapsing building. This time the explosives ringing the place burn a fuel that strips every bit of oxygen from the air, and he intends to stay put so neither of them gets clear.

Number 6 uses the talking as an opening and puts a round from his hand into Knuckleduster's stomach. The punches keep landing anyway, and Knuckleduster explains the bulletproof jacket and the drugs holding him upright, adding that all he needs is five more seconds on the fuse. Five seconds pass. Nothing goes off.

Soga Kugisaki steps into view and admits he clocked the plan the moment he saw the bombs, so he disarmed them. Koichi and everyone else are risking their lives to keep people breathing, he says angrily, which means Knuckleduster does not get to die either.

Number 6 finds the whole thing hilarious. He kicks Knuckleduster over, crows about the elaborate scheme collapsing, and turns on Soga, telling him he can read the thought about a single shot to the head and knows Soga has no stomach for killing, while he can tear either of them apart without effort. He offers one last chance to make a move.

What arrives instead is Koichi, who bowls both of them off the roof and then rockets skyward. Whatever else the boy can do, he cannot fly, so Koichi means to haul him out of the neighborhood personally, tearing through the air with him in tow.

Knuckleduster compliments Soga on using himself as bait and tries to insist he is fine. Soga refuses the bluff, tells him to stop talking, and promises he is not dying today, because people are still waiting for him to come home. Knuckleduster can only stare as Soga says they should leave the rest to Koichi. High above, Koichi keeps driving upward while Number 6 seethes that Koichi is forever the obstacle, and the scar across his face splits open before he detonates in midair.

Soga is revealed to have disarmed every bomb Knuckleduster planted in the building, specifically to stop him from throwing his life away.

Koichi rescues Knuckleduster and Soga by knocking Number 6 off the roof and carrying him up and out of Naruhata.

Number 6 explodes in midair in a fit of frustration.

Released on October 23, 2021, chapter 112 of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes spans nineteen pages and collects into the fourteenth volume. Hideyuki Furuhashi writes and Betten Court illustrates. It falls within the Naruhata Lockdown arc, between Chapter 111 and Chapter 113.

Serialization ran the chapter as The Old-Timer (クソジジイ, Kuso Jijī), retitled Blunder and Consequence for the volume. Knuckleduster appears alone on the cover.

The cast is small: Knuckleduster, Number 6, Soga Kugisaki, Koichi Haimawari, and the All For One illusion still wearing O'Clock's face.
