Chapter 422 is one long relay. Classmates, pros and strangers absorb blows, block debris and physically throw Deku forward while a country's worth of voices shout the same three words at him, and "All For One" finally understands that the weakness he mocked is what keeps standing everyone else back up.
A barrage knocks Can't Stop Twinkling back, and he yells at Deku not to stop running. Eraser Head calls for Oboro and sees "Kurogiri"'s body beginning to come apart. Deku pushes deeper into the fight as every hero throws what they have at "All For One". Vlad King complains that nothing connects because the man is simply built too tough, and Illus-o-Camie notes that her illusions no longer fool him the way they once did. Eraser opens the comms and orders everyone to cut a straight lane to Tomura.
His Omni-Factor Unleash, "All For One" announces, is not emotion running loose but authority exercised over his own powers, and the heroes should not imagine numbers are enough. He fires a heavy laser at Deku, and Invisible Girl plants herself in front of it and refracts it back without hesitation. Creati and Chargebolt assemble the Electromagnetic Rail Gun and put a shot straight into him; he calls them insolent, swats the attacks aside, and answers with more.
Deku shouts at him to leave them be and winds up a punch, only for students from 1-A and 1-B to throw themselves into the incoming fire. Tailman, already finished, tells him to save his strength; Sugarman adds that only Deku's power can end this, which means the rest of them have to eat the hits for him. Froppy and Tentacole take hold of him, admit that none of them are nimble enough to thread those attacks, and hurl him partway there while he thanks them. In the Evacuation Center, Froppy's siblings shout for her to do her best, and the girl Tentacole saved as a child says he can do it. A collapsing structure nearly crushes Deku until Fat Gum, Red Riot and Pinky shove it clear, their old middle school classmates recognizing them on the broadcast, and they tell Deku to finish it.
"All For One" wonders why the carcasses will not lie down. There is barely any life in how they move, he observes, and their eyes are stubborn anyway. He remembers taunting Deku in the vestige world for always watching helplessly, and calling it a blunder that One For All ever reached him, and only now sees the truth: it is Deku, and it is his weakness, the one thing All Might never had. A frail, feeble sort of strength that drags everyone upright and will not die while he keeps moving forward. He raises a hand to fire, blood leaks from the hole in it, and he feels his body start to fracture.
Gentle and Death Arms shout for Deku to do his best as he runs, Gentle laying an air trampoline under him; over in Gunga, a recovering Tsukuyomi says it too. On the fringes, Ethan Drive and his soldiers reach All Might and Edgeshot and note that their ejector seats were supposed to be disabled, crediting their survival to him. All Might says the kids want an outright victory, so he would rather keep the losses down, which Ethan finds rich coming from him. He thinks about the day Deku's body moved before his head did, and how ever since then the boy has been his greatest hero, and raises his bulked fist one last time.
Ingenium catches Deku and drives him onward, asking whether he recalls Uravity's words leaving U.A. on their first day, and saying he finally understands them. Pixie-Bob, in the helicopter, tells Uravity the hospital is close and to hold on, and as she stirs she remembers telling Deku the name itself shouts do your best, and manages to say it aloud. Melissa and Rody say it too. The American president orders every hero in the country sent to Japan and refuses to care what it costs at home. Deku can hear all of them, heroes and civilians alike, the last voice his mother's, and he reaches "All For One" and buries a fist in his chest.
Class 1-A and the pro heroes keep battling the villain, clearing a lane and shielding Deku as he charges.
"Kurogiri"'s body begins failing.
The soldiers from America turn out to have survived and link up with All Might and Edgeshot.
Uravity nears the hospital for treatment.
"All For One" starts cracking from the inside as Tomura's screaming memory resurfaces.
Voices across the broadcast, hero and civilian alike, tell Deku to do his best and carry him within reach of the villain.

Naruto vs Luffy with the twist nobody asked for: Luffy tickled Hinata on date night, and she kind of liked it. We break down the whole fight and commit to a winner....

There are no women on Namek. That isn't an oversight, it's the biology. Why we handed Piccolo the one thing his own species rules out, and why it had to be trap soul....
"Izuku Midoriya Rising" runs fifteen pages, published in issue 24 of 2024 on May 13 and collected in volume 41 within the Final War arc. Episode 167 adapts it. Izuku Midoriya, "All For One" with Tomura Shigaraki, and Inko Midoriya appear on the cover.
The chapter fields an unusually deep Quirk roster, from Invisibility, Creation and Electrification through Frog, Hardening, Fat Absorption and Engine, with the villain wielding Impure Beam and Rivet Stab. Featured super moves are Omni-Factor Unleash, Warp Refraction, the Electromagnetic Rail Gun and Gently Trampoline. Kohei Horikoshi's author's comment praises his editor Imamura's denim jacket.
"All For One" realizes that the weakness he once mocked, the frail strength that drags people back up and refuses to quit, is exactly what Deku has that All Might never did, and it is why the heroes will not stay down no matter how many times he hits them.
Heroes and classmates form a relay, absorbing hits, deflecting attacks, and physically throwing Deku forward while civilians and heroes across the country shout for him to do his best, carrying him within striking distance of "All For One".
"Kurogiri"'s body begins to come apart during the fight, which Eraser Head notices as he calls out for Oboro.
Invisible Girl refracts a laser meant for Deku, Creati and Chargebolt fire the Electromagnetic Rail Gun, and students including Froppy, Tentacole, Fat Gum, Red Riot, and Pinky shield or carry Deku through the battlefield.
Chapter 422 ends with Deku reaching "All For One" and burying a fist in his chest after hearing the voices of heroes and civilians, including his mother, urging him on.
