Personality

Loud and self-important, Osuka craves the spotlight and burns to become a celebrated actress like her mother and father, whose fame she brings up at every opportunity. Spoiled and quick-tempered, she flares up whenever a classmate draws more praise than she does and will sink to petty, mean-spirited pranks to reclaim the attention. When one such stunt against Kae Yukiwari came to light, she tried to shove the blame onto Neon, then broke down in tears once she was scolded for it.

Her swagger, though, is armor over a lonely girl who struggles to make friends and rarely sees her busy parents; Neon insists there is real kindness beneath the bitterness. That warmth surfaces when she throws herself between a kidnapper and Himawari, and after seeing how far her classmates and family will go for her sake, she softens into someone far less self-absorbed.

History

Osuka enters the Academy determined to outshine everyone, trumpeting her family's wealth and celebrity, and grows increasingly sour as classmates like Himawari Uzumaki and Kae Yukiwari draw the notice she wants for herself. Her jealousy boils over at a tea party, where she has Neon's drone inject mustard into Kae's cake, only to be exposed; her attempt to pin it all on Neon earns a sharp rebuke from Kae and reduces her to tears.

Later, after a fight with her overworked mother Hibari, she is snatched off the street by kidnappers, with Himawari taken along because the pair could not be separated. When Himawari's escape falters, Osuka steps up and offers herself as a compliant hostage to spare her classmate, and Kawaki arrives in time to protect them both; the ordeal ends with mother and daughter reconciling. Cast as Orochimaru in the class play about the Sannin, she quietly swaps out Kawaki's real forehead protector for a prop to keep his shinobi identity hidden. She sees her classmates through the festival's terrorist scare and a survival exercise on a remote island, where their teacher Hana is exposed as an assassin, and by the time Kae must return home Osuka has become a steadier, more generous friend.
