Monster…!!

Prompted by Naruto, Kawaki verifies that the intruder Delta ranks among Kara's Inners, and she in turn makes clear she knows exactly who the Hokage is, demanding he step aside so she can collect the boy. Kawaki cautions that every Inner is a monster, a shift in his manner that tells Boruto just how grave the threat is. When Naruto flatly refuses to surrender Kawaki, Delta resolves to kill him instead. He orders Boruto to keep Himawari safe and tells Kawaki to defend himself before the fighting starts.

Delta opens with a kick, but Naruto slips it, seizes her leg, and hurls her to the ground. His Rasengan is drained away by her Shinobi-Ware eye, and a surprise strike from a limb that reshapes itself much like Kawaki's own body forces another dodge. She boasts of her extensive scientific modifications, and Naruto shifts into his chakra mode. When he blocks her next kick, the leg sprouts spikes on contact, one running him through; he retaliates with chakra arms that crush the limb, driving her back even as it regrows. Warning Boruto to stay clear, Naruto endures being kicked and pinned underfoot while Delta insists that Kawaki is all she wants.

Puzzled that Naruto would risk so much for a boy who has only caused him grief, Delta trades pointed questions with the Hokage, who is just as curious why she would march alone into hostile ground. She twists and yanks the spike from his healing abdomen, then catches on that his show of weakness was a ruse to pry information from her. Furious at the trick, she wraps herself in a chakra cloak and vows to shred him. Naruto tells the children to back further away and closes with her once more; caught in a deadlock, Delta fires the stolen Rasengan back at him, and he evades it while an awestruck Boruto looks on.

The title's kanji would ordinarily be pronounced Kaibutsu, but the furigana instead assigns the reading Bakemon. This chapter falls within the Kawaki arc and was gathered into the eighth volume, first published early in 2019.
