Mogu Mogu no Mi

This Zoan-type power lets its holder shift into a mole hybrid or a complete mole whenever they choose, making them a Mole Human. Drophy, who operates under the Baroque Works codename Miss Merry Christmas, is its user. Chopper laid out the fruit's workings to Usopp before the power was clearly displayed. The name shortens the Japanese word for mole, and it doubles as a phrase for mumbling, which suits Drophy's speech. Translations have ranged from the Diggy-Diggy Fruit in VIZ and 4Kids to the Mole-Mole Fruit in Funimation.

The chief strength is the ability to glide through earth as though swimming through water, paired with banana-sized mole claws for slashing enemies. A strong enough user simply plows through stone barriers underground without slowing. The tunnels she carves can serve allies as well, as Babe and Lassoo did, but they cut both ways, since enemies can use them too. Worse, every tunnel interconnects, so a large blast funneled into the network could badly hurt the digger and her partners alike. The standard Devil Fruit vulnerabilities round out her weaknesses.

Drophy is the wielder, applying the power chiefly to combat. During her and Babe's clash with Usopp and Chopper, her popping in and out of holes evoked a game of whac-a-mole, especially as Usopp swung a hammer while she ducked away. Her techniques include Mogura Tonpo: Mogugyo, a leaping swan dive back underground; Mogura Banana, a clawed strike from below or mid-leap; and Mogurazuka Highway, grabbing a foe's feet and dragging them along the surface while tunneling. That last sets up combos like Mogurazuka Yonban Kousaten, where Babe smashes the hauled captive with his bat, and Mogu Mogu Impact, ramming the foe into a wall. The intersection combo proved her undoing when Usopp tricked Babe into striking her by accident. A running gag has Usopp mistaking her hybrid shape for a penguin.
