Appearance

Broad in both body and head, Basskarte keeps almost all of himself hidden. The lower half of his face vanishes behind a high jacket collar, his hands stay tucked inside long sleeves, and a mask plus a headband cover still more, leaving only a towering, flame-like mass of puffy hair on display. His features have never been drawn in the manga, though the anime gives him a wide mouth set with sharp teeth and purple lips.

Personality

In the manner of so many of his brothers and sisters, Basskarte holds firm loyalty to crew and family. He stepped without hesitation into Big Mom's plot against the Vinsmokes, joined the pursuit and assault on the Straw Hats and the Germa Kingdom, and even trailed his mother all the way into Kaidou's Wano to chase revenge on Luffy's crew.

Abilities

Officer rank gives him sway over the crew's lower members, and while his combat ceiling stays unclear, he can shoot flames from his hands hot enough to set a small space alight, with the anime adding a fire-breathing trick. Those flames did nothing against the Vinsmokes' Raid Suits, and they eventually overwhelmed him. His will is sturdy, surviving Big Mom's Supreme King Haki scream, and he carried a Walker during the assassination attempt. At the wedding he waited with his brothers for the signal, later jabbed his gun toward Reiju, then looked on in fear as the Fire Tank Pirates turned against his mother. He battled the freed Vinsmokes, rode out the chateau's collapse thanks to Streusen's cake, and marched with Nusstorte's squad against Germa 66, where Reiju sat atop his beaten body before the army was flung into the sea. He followed Linlin to Wano, dropped with the ship when King struck it, and watched his siblings quarrel over succession; a second waterfall climb during the Fire Festival was turned back by Marco.
