Appearance

Colon is a giant youngster with messy pink hair, the bangs draped over his right eye, freckles, and a round nose that juts forward. His outfit follows the Viking style of most giants: a horned scarlet helmet, a small pale blue cape, and a white tunic belted at the waist. A little sword rides on his right hip.

Personality

He idolizes powerful pirates, his father among them, along with Shanks, the Giant Warrior Pirates, and Luffy. The other schoolchildren brand him a delinquent, and he comes across as far more violent than their gentler upbringing allows. The tough act, however, masks a child's nerves, and in real danger he easily panics, crying out for his father even when doing so endangers him further. He cherishes his giant mother Ripley and the lessons she gives him, and he holds total faith in his father Gaban's strength. Though the Walrus School children claim to hate him, Colon insists on counting the whole class as his friends.

History

Colon was born twenty years ago, and his father called him his greatest treasure. As a half-giant he has size, strength, and a long lifespan beyond an ordinary human's, though as a child he falls well short of the adult giants. He carries a wooden sword he handles with some skill, until it snapped during a brief swing at Luffy. He first learned of the Straw Hats when Shanks turned down his plea to join the Red Hair Pirates and told him to remember the name Luffy. Days later at the Walrus School he ambushed Luffy with his wooden blade, did no damage, then introduced himself and stood awed by the Emperor's power. When the village came under attack, he ignored warnings and set out alone, reuniting with Nami, Usopp, Brook, and Jinbe and roping them into his self-declared Colon Pirates. After Jinbe doused a fire with sea cloud water to rescue sleepwalking giant children, the God's Knight Gunko appeared, subdued Colon with an arrow, and cast his crew overboard. Gunko later used Colon's slip of calling out to his father to learn their bond, then held a lance to the boy's neck to force Gaban's surrender, impaling and knocking the pirate off the branch as Colon watched in tears. Through the ensuing ordeal, including Imu's possession of Gunko and waves of Supreme King Haki, the captive children were marched toward death until Ripley shielded Colon with her own body and Loki and Luffy broke their fall. Back in the Western Village, Colon and the other children bravely stepped between Sommers and their guardians before Zoro, Luffy, and Loki put the Knight down, only for Killingham to flood the village and recapture them once more.
