Hamlet's SMILE left a complete giraffe's body sprouting from his back at the neck, hoisting his human torso several meters off the ground. Bright green hair hangs long and shaggy from his head, which bears a giraffe's ears and ossicones. His outfit is a regal cloak that bares his chest, fitted with prominent shoulder pads, paired with dark gloves, giraffe-print trousers, and spurred boots.

Arrogance marks Hamlet, who talks down to his subordinates and was certain he could handle threats that frightened them.

His rank of Shinuchi gives Hamlet command over the lower tiers of the Beasts Pirates. He has been seen fighting by kicking opponents in the jaw, yet for all his bluster a single punch from Jinbe put him down. Eating a Giraffe SMILE caused a full giraffe body to burst from his upper back, and that body holds him upright while barely managing the strain, trembling constantly, while two cutlasses hang at his side though he has never been shown using them. As the alliance stormed Onigashima during the Fire Festival, the underlings of Hamlet and Fourtricks were thrashed by Luffy, Sanji, and Jinbe, prompting the two officers to step in. Dismissing those subordinates' fears, the pair confronted the trio confidently and were knocked aside in an instant. Kurozumi Tama later fed Hamlet a dango carrying the power of her Kibi Kibi no Mi, taming him and binding his loyalty to her, and at her word he turned on his own crewmates to help bring down Kaidou.

Nami and Usopp afterward enlisted Hamlet to haul Komachiyo clear of the flames. When they came upon Kin'emon's severed legs, Usopp strapped them onto Hamlet and rode the Gifter toward where Kin'emon's torso lay. With the legs reattached and more Beasts Pirates closing in, Izou held the line while Hamlet and Usopp carried Kikunojo and Kin'emon to the floor below. Blocked by fire, Usopp's water Pop Green ignited instead, and Hamlet mocked its failure until the sniper snapped at him for help. When Hamlet asked to be saved too, the point became moot as water flushed down from the upper levels. Come evening he celebrated at the festival in the Flower Capital and raised a glass with everyone else.
