Appearance
Middle age sits on Hanji's tanned features, where a scar cuts across his left eye. The crown of his head is largely bare apart from a vivid mohawk styled like an orange flame, and the lavender shade of his remaining hair sets it off. While imprisoned in Udon he wore the regulation convict garb, and the anime later dresses him in a red kimono once he sheds the prison stripes.
Personality
Hanji holds the bleak conviction that no one in Wano can truly be free, which leads him to bow to the Beasts Pirates rather than risk rebellion. He recoils from what he calls needless hope, and he wept in pain even as he and other inmates held Luffy back. The anime paints him as jittery as well, restless enough that Hyougoro had to settle him down.
