Hyoutauros

Towering and heavily built, Hyoutauros is a jaguar centaur with tanned skin and a long blond beard. Small dark eyes, a broad nose, and pronounced cheekbones mark his face, and he tops himself with a striped blue cap while draping a jaguar-print covering over his left shoulder.

A scatterbrained quality defines him; he genuinely took Luffy for a fellow centaur, fooled by Kin'emon's legs stuck to the captain. He also proves dogged, chasing the Straw Hats, hurling a rock after them from a distance, and summoning his comrades even while wounded.

For all his bulk, Hyoutauros is no match for Luffy, who knocked him out with one blow and shattered his spiked metal club in the process. While roaming the Burning Lands he stumbled onto Luffy, chatted and laughed with him under the mistaken belief that he was another centaur, then lunged the instant he realized his error, only for Luffy to catch the weapon and kick him down. Coming to, he trailed the Straw Hats to the lake dividing the island, lobbed a boulder that just missed their raft, and blew a horn to alert Brownbeard that intruders were incoming. In the anime his realization that Luffy is an outsider comes from a Den Den Mushi call by Kirintauros, whereas the manga leaves the reason unclear.
