Appearance

Of average build and youthful, Kansho has thick brown hair worn bushy, eyes that are round, a rounded nose, and a jaw cut square. Disguised as one of the Foxy Pirates, he sported a blue striped shirt under a green cape, the crew's signature goggles, and an orange visor across his brow. Once back among the Marines, he switched to their standard uniform and ditched the goggles while hanging on to the visor.

Personality

Kansho is a dutiful Marine who carries out commands without pause, and a capable enough actor to win Foxy's trust and be carried along to Nebulandia. He truly looked up to Usopp's marksmanship and hoped to grow into a skilled sniper himself. Some people mangle his name into Kancho, the crude Japanese prank, which he resents; mistakes about his name annoy him and leave him sullen in the same way Foxy gets. Serving beneath Komei, he sticks close to the Vice Admiral's orders, though Komei prizes catching pirates over any individual life. With Foxy he was an enemy wearing a friendly face, yet his admiration for Usopp held genuine even once they met as foes.

History

Some time past the Long Ring Long Land events, Kansho joined the Foxy Pirates. While Foxy and the Straw Hats prepared to leave Kinoko Island to free their captured crewmates, he volunteered to come along, hungry to prove himself to his fresh captain and to his idol Usopp, and climbed aboard the Thousand Sunny headed for Nebulandia. The island strained out seawater and its plant life preyed on Devil Fruit users, and after a Marine fleet sprang an ambush the party was scattered by cannon shots, Robin was taken, and Luffy was caught in the vegetation, though Kansho returned fire next to Usopp and Franky.

When Usopp and Franky set off to probe the underground, Kansho was instructed to stay above and protect the rest. After that pair were captured and a fading Luffy chased Komei alone, Kansho lifted Foxy onto his shoulders and pursued. They arrived just as Komei had dunked Luffy and was battling Nami, and Kansho aimed his weapon at the back of Komei's skull while Foxy and Nami brought the drowning captain back. The second Luffy revived, however, Kansho put a round into his neck and disclosed that he was a Marine working undercover, telling Usopp and Foxy he was only doing his job.

The Marines' apparent win unraveled when a geyser hauled Kinoconda up from the sea, breaking the ground out from under Kansho and Komei. After Brook and Chopper released the crew from inside the great serpent, Luffy stood up unhurt, his Foxy trinket having taken the bullet earlier. Kansho fired again, but Usopp deflected the shot, and a furious Foxy pummeled his traitorous crewmate with a barrage of punches that flung him into the crowd of Marines. He went unseen after that, though he most probably went back to the Marines, who were all evacuated onto the warships.
