Appearance

Age has left Kobe with little hair, most of it gathered toward the back of his head where just enough remains to bind into a small topknot. He dresses in an olive-green kimono dotted with a pattern, layered over a navy coat decorated with pale-blue diamonds, and small circular glasses sit on his nose. A pipe is usually clamped in his mouth.

Personality

Sharp thinking is not among his strengths; he handed a geisha the blueprints to a warlord's fortress simply as a token of gratitude, apparently without grasping their worth. As a landlord, though, he runs a tight ship, accepting those very blueprints as settlement when one of his renters could not cover what he owed.

History

Some years earlier, his tenant Kumagoro had let his rent debt grow, so Kobe seized a collection of schematics detailing Kaidou's Onigashima fortress as compensation. He then passed the documents along to Kisegawa, the geisha he favored most.

During the Wano events, Franky tracked Kobe down hoping to obtain those plans, and the landlord explained that they had gone to Kisegawa, asking whether Franky happened to know her. Later, Kobe joined the revelry of the Fire Festival in the company of Kumagoro, Kisegawa, Tokijiro, and Rakuda, the group dreaming aloud of the Kouzuki Family toppling Orochi and Kaidou.
