Laskey

Standing about a foot and a half below the nine-foot Spandine, Laskey is still a notably tall figure. His resemblance to Kalifa runs strong enough that observers correctly guessed the two were father and daughter. Gray hair flows back from his head, interrupted by a single antenna-like strand at the front, while a short goatee of matching color sits on his chin. His face carries the same stern, angular cast as his daughter's. For accessories he favors slim red-rimmed sunglasses paired with blue earrings.

His clothing follows the standard issued to World Government operatives: a black suit worn with black gloves. Beneath the jacket sits a pale blue shirt, accented by a handkerchief in the same shade.

Beyond his apparent devotion to the World Government, shown when he backed Spandine during the Ohara mission, little about his temperament has been recorded.

Born into a lineage of assassins, Laskey was conditioned from infancy to take lives, and across his years in CP9 he stood as its top operative. He would father two daughters who later joined Cipher Pol, Kalifa and Alpha. Roughly twenty-two years before the present, he accompanied Spandine, then the chief of CP9, onto the West Blue island of Ohara. The official reason was halting the local scholars from unlawfully decoding the Poneglyphs, a matter said to require investigation, yet that pretext masked the real aim of unleashing a Buster Call upon the whole island.

When the armed Nico Olvia stood in their way, Laskey and his colleague Kamaya brought her down together. With the archaeologists seized, Spandine triggered the golden snail used to summon the fleet, and Marine warships opened their bombardment at once. The attack escalated faster than CP9 had anticipated, and the early onslaught sharply narrowed the agents' own window to flee.
