Nerine

Brown-haired and broad of head, Nerine favors scanty purple garments. She is almost always shown clutching a notebook and pen for jotting down whatever catches her interest. In the 'Share the World' opening she was originally drawn taller, with blonde hair and clothing of a different shade.

Nerine is a compulsive note-taker, recording anything she finds remotely curious. Like the rest of the Kuja she has never encountered a man, so Luffy's nudity left her unembarrassed; she simply assumed all his features, including those granted by his Devil Fruit, were ordinary among men. She also has a shrewd, opportunistic streak, charging her fellow islanders twenty Gor apiece for the chance to poke at Luffy, all without his consent.

A capable Kuja fighter, Nerine can channel Armament Haki into her arrows to strike with added force, as seen when the warriors loosed Haki-laced volleys at Luffy. She first appeared among the curious crowd observing the imprisoned Luffy and noted his stretching ability in her book, then joined the others in attacking him when he snapped. She watched his arena bout with the Gorgon Sisters and rejoiced when Marguerite, Sweet Pea, and Aphelandra were freed from petrification. At the farewell party she ran her touch-the-pirate scheme, and she later returned to celebrate his comeback, eager to tug on him once more. In the anime, unlike the manga, she is shown traveling with the Kuja Pirates both before and after the timeskip.
