Panz Fry

Panz Fry is a bulky giant crowned with long, unruly green hair and a matching beard. Pink markings point across his cheeks and nose, and his lips are thick. He dresses in traditional viking garb topped by a horned chef's hat, wears golden bracelets, and keeps spoons tucked into his belt.

By his daughter Lily's account, Panz Fry is unusually warmhearted for a pirate. He lifts food from the Marines, the government, and rival pirates alike, and nothing pleases him more than feeding the hungry. He regards it as contemptible for the Marines to strip provisions from ordinary citizens merely to indulge the selfish World Nobles, and he holds them responsible for the sorry condition of the world ever since Whitebeard's passing.

Like all giants, Panz Fry possesses enormous strength, hefting massive utensils and even lifting a huge pan of paella to cook directly over a volcano. His chief weapon is a giant metal soup ladle swung like a club, which doubles as a cooking tool; it shattered against Momonga, though he likely keeps spares and sometimes fights with his cooking pan. His true mastery is Volcano Cooking, preparing dishes with magma heat, his signatures being Sea Animal Churrasco of skewered Sea King meat roasted in molten rock and the Thousand People Paella that Lily prized above all. He counts the giants Dorry and Brogy among his childhood friends. Over the years he raided countless Marine and pirate vessels for food, cooking it for the starving and earning both a bounty and a fame that reached even Sanji, until Vice Admiral Momonga defeated and captured him after he boarded his ship.

Bound in chains, Panz Fry was loaded onto a huge raft and surrounded by a four-ship Marine guard for the voyage across the Maubeugemour Sea, their destination Impel Down. When questioned, he explained he had only reclaimed food the government itself had stolen from civilians, food destined for the World Nobles' feasts. The Straw Hats slipped aboard and cut him loose, briefly reuniting him with Lily before a volley of torpedoes left him gravely wounded as the Neo Marines attacked. Their leader Shuzo revealed he had orchestrated the raids and now wanted Panz Fry's head, prompting Lily to fight in her father's defense while Momonga sliced apart incoming cannonballs to protect him.

The Thrust Up Stream then erupted, destroying the Marine fleet and most of the raft, leaving Panz Fry clinging to a fragment. After regrouping behind a reef and being treated by Chopper, he was attacked once more when Shuzo's Neo Marines returned. He battled with his ladle and pan despite his injuries, but Shuzo used Tekkai to repel him and later had Alpacacino shoot him unconscious. Once Luffy beat Shuzo, Panz Fry sailed off with the Straw Hats, who helped him gather ingredients so he could finally prepare his famous feast under an active volcano before the two giants parted for home.
