Appearance

Built low to the ground and noticeably round through the middle, Rowing carries that bulk on surprisingly spindly arms and legs. Dark wavy locks fall to roughly his shoulders, and his mouth has a ragged, uneven cut to it. For clothing he favors a purple tee whose sleeves and collar shade toward lavender, paired with shorts in a deeper purple.

Personality

The series reveals little about what truly drove Rowing, though a few traits surface. Like so many of his crewmates, the captain included, he was instantly smitten with Shakuyaku and lit up at every meeting with her. Treasure delighted him just as much, and the haul at God Valley left him thrilled. He also carried a streak of recklessness: once cut down by Imu, rather than panic he remarked that the fight had grown more interesting, a comment Mugren found idiotic.

History

Going back four decades, Rowing already rode with the Roger Pirates and took part in their raid on the Kuja Pirates, the goal being to recruit Shakuyaku, while Roger braced his men for a clash with a Marine vessel carrying Monkey D. Garp. The crew later reached God Valley and helped pull Shakuyaku to safety. Rowing then pushed toward the treasure alongside Taro, Mugren, and Scopper Gaban, only for the Rocks Pirates to ambush them over the prize. When Imu seized control of Jaygarcia Saturn's body and went berserk, Rowing and Mugren were both wounded, prompting Roger to have Gaban tend to them and clear out with the loot. Twenty-five years before the present, Rowing attended a crew meeting about the push toward the Grand Line's final island. His fate after the crew split apart is never disclosed.
