Incomprehensible! The Seraphim's Rebellion!

The chapter opens with the artificial Seraphim soldiers going on the offensive. Because Shaka cannot make the weapons obey him, he concludes that one of his fellow satellites must have issued a secret command to slaughter everyone present. That realization is grim, since the order endangers the satellites themselves.

Across the facility, Lucci and Kaku grasp that the rampaging machines have marked them as targets as well. The pair propose a short ceasefire to Luffy and Zoro, hoping to be released so they can help fend off the assault, yet the two pirates hesitate to strike any such deal. Far away, Vegapunk finds himself taken prisoner, and Sentomaru draws a parallel between the unfolding crisis and a dark chapter of history.

S-Snake petrifies York and shoves her aside, leaving Lilith with no way to halt the soldier. When S-Bear and S-Hawk close in on Shaka's group and he can issue no commands, he becomes certain a betrayal has occurred from within. Zoro and Luffy move to stop the Seraphim, only to discover the machines are pursuing Lucci and Kaku instead.

Once awake, Lucci and Kaku request a brief alliance, but neither Straw Hat member will undo the handcuffs. S-Hawk then attacks using Supa Supa no Mi powers, the very ability Zoro had once witnessed Daz Bonez wield. Meanwhile, after being ejected from Bonney's room, Vegapunk finds himself seized and locked away within a tube alongside other Cipher Pol prisoners, who explain that they too were captured during their attempt to reach Egghead. He connects his own abduction back to the research he has done on the Poneglyphs, and Sentomaru, noticing how the events echo the Ohara Incident, recounts that tragedy to the civilians of the Fabiriophase and warns them about the threat posed by the World Government.

The animated version inserts material absent from the source, including Vegapunk dwelling on both Clover and Jaygarcia Saturn while he puzzles over how word of his research escaped, plus a shot of Marine Base G-9 dispatching a one-hundred-ship fleet. In a notable departure, the closing line is not the usual declaration about claiming the title of Pirate King. Instead, Zoro delivers a variation, announcing that Luffy is the one destined to become King of the Pirates.
