Foxy the Silver Fox! A Violent Interference

Having shrugged off wave after wave of dirty tricks from the Foxy Pirates, the Straw Hats push their boats into a coral reef riddled with crosscurrents. Their craft fight through where the Cutie Wagon stalls. Foxy then looses a smoke arrow that blinds them, and a giant whirlpool called the Long Ring looms ahead. An Impact Dial carries them airborne over the swirling water, but the Well Whatever crashes against the Long Cape and is knocked out of contention.

Down to the Barrel Tiger and the Cutie Wagon, the chase tightens. Capote's Two-Fish Engine finally drags Porche's vessel clear of the reef while Nami steers past a fake finish marker and Foxy in disguise as a frail old woman pleading for aid. Porche is fooled by the false line, yet Foxy springs his trump card. He explains that the Noro Noro no Mi lets him spray particles that drag anything they touch to a crawl. The slowed Barrel Tiger lets the Cutie Wagon cross first, and Porche selects Tony Tony Chopper as the winner's prize. Chopper joins the rival crew in tears.

Because the lineup cannot be reshuffled and Chopper was meant for the second round, only Zoro and Sanji remain to enter it. Foxy lays out the rules of the Groggy Ring, a brutal ball game where a team must hurl one of its own through the enemy's hoop. He then presents his squad, the Groggy Monsters, made up of Hamburg, Pickles, and Big Pan. Pickles and Big Pan both make their first appearance, as does the Noro Noro no Mi itself. Heavily overmatched, the two cooks brace for the whistle.
